This piece is one of the most complex 3-demensional collages I've seen ~
which in my opinion matches the personality of the artist as most artwork often should. Representing the self in one's work shows conviction and commitment to personal feelings that add to the piece's power of presence.

The many details here seem to represent a full and complicated existence put into a malleable, transparent frame.

While some of the objects contained appear to be single-use solitary items,
this structured compilation lends itself to telling a story of an individual life which may have required many tools both disposable and spiritual, and evidence of subjective sacrifice.

A few of the articles mixed in the folds seem to be labels, wrappers, instructional cues, measurements...
things like these take what could be seen as a random assembly and gives it a deeper meaning - an artfully methodical beginning and end.

Having made use of a see-thru frame and choosing a rectangular shape is a visual outline reminiscent of windows, frozen artifacts in ice, or archives in a time capsule. The artist seems to be using a whirlwind of chaos to create a neat package of historical value.

My personal preoccupation is with the red lighter
- a color of aggression and passion.
The lighter stands upright and faces towards the medial line, placed at the lower right of the piece.
At first, this object symbolized just one more component that represented both industrial manufacturing and a controlled natural force of nature (fire).
The placement strikes me now as a threat or something of a finishing thought to the entire story...
The potential for fire threatens it all - every memory good and bad,
but not necessarily a bad thing when considering that all things come to an end, and maybe should.
In other words, the lighter says something interesting about giving back to the earth - possibly a way to release AND preserve a full and complicated life more organically.

All in all, this is a piece of work that begs a lingering eye and commands examination -
while some art should be enjoyed more simply as visual effects alone, it is never the case with this artist.

A mindful piece of work, indeed.
